Only 4 km from the town’s square you will find what was once the most lucrative business of the area, the Tonnara del Secco.  Basically a place where the tuna was brought after being fished, then cleaned and worked.  The Tonnara del Secco is a massive complex that was abandoned in the 1970’s, unfortunately today it’s impossible to visit it because it has been destroyed by the sea.  However, the atmosphere and the history behind it will make you wonder for hours!
